Hey there, I'm Rebecca
I went to art school, got married, ran a wedding photography business, and become a mother to two precious boys. Parenting has many challenges, and it’s led me on a journey to nurture the calm in my life. I’ve discovered that when I seek a state of ease and make time to get grounded, I can be the kind, patient and peaceful person I hope to be.
How did I discover I loved flowers?
On a bright afternoon at my in-laws, I noticed a crystal vase full of pink and red dahlias, picked from the garden. Randomly, I picked them up, put them by the window and took a few photos. On reviewing the images, I decided I needed to photograph more, so I did. I’ve been adoring flowers ever since. I even started growing them myself!
I kept photographing flowers but I didn’t really know why - I mean other than I liked photographing beautiful things! I knew I wanted to make art that was meaningful. Not just a portrait of a flower but something beyond that. Art that could communicate something special to others.
I started to realise...
When I work with flowers - whether planting, picking, arranging, admiring - I have the best time. I’m happy, I’m smiling and I feel calm. Being with flowers, takes me into the present moment and grounds me.
Things began to make sense… my images of flowers, do a very similar thing. They take me back to those feelings and experiences I have when I’m in the presence of flowers. I feel joy, calm, and they remind me to pause, and take a breath. Pausing, I’ve come to learn, is a powerful tool for getting grounded and finding calm in times of stress.
I’m so grateful to create photographs that can evoke special feelings within you. It brings me joy that I can capture a feeling in a photograph so you can experience it whenever you like.

Artist Statement
There is something transcending about growing, harvesting, arranging and sitting with flowers. Many find flowers calming, grounding and even therapeutic. My work seeks to hold this connection we have with flowers in an image, to enjoy beyond the seasons.
Flowers are a recent passion for me. Alongside my enduring awe of beautiful light - think golden and glowing; both bold and soft - I’ve found myself exploring their relationship and searching for special moments between both.
I am mesmerised by the presence of light in darkness and eagerly experiment with the interplay of light and dark.
My hope, is each photograph, invites the viewer to experience a moment to pause; to sit in the present. They aspire to bring a moment of tranquility, and inspire feelings of peace, calmness and joy.
My work highlights the way these wonderfully created elements of nature, connect us to these feelings, and create a sense of reassurance and belonging.
